Jerry Tubb is a lifetime musician from Levelland, Texas. He and his wife Diane are the co-owners of Terra Nova which they started in 1990. Jerry's mastering skills are well known throughout the US, Europe and Australia. "Mastered by Jerry Tubb at Terra Nova Digital Audio" is a credit that artists want on their albums.
Jerry has been recording, performing, and teaching since his
early teens. Some of his early musical influences were The Beatles, Wes Montgomery, Jimi
Hendrix, Johnny Cash, and B.B. King. He was Director of the Commercial Music Department at Midland College for several years prior to opening Terra Nova in 1990. He has won many academic awards and as a jazz guitar performer has played with numerous famous musicians. Mentor to so many musicians and friend to all who meet and work with him, know that he "keeps it real" and is dedicated to his work. Jerry has excelled in every aspect of music, but mastering was an area that he knew he would choose as his focus. It was a decision that has made Jerry's talent a major contribution to the music industry of Texas and beyond.
Jerry has a "sixth sense" for knowing how to make the most out of a final mix. He's on a mission to make sure that all the projects he masters are sonically correct. The late Townes Van Zandt (one of our friends and clients) called Jerry "The Wizard." Jerry has more than 7000 album credits to date. (7/2007)
Personal: 1950's sci-fi movies, travel, reading, sudoku, internet forums for mastering, driving his Chevy Avalanche, listening to his vintage jazz vinyl record collection, watching football, playing guitar, being the total studio gearhead.

Diane
S. Tubb
Vice President / Co-Owner
Head of Business and Studio Operations
Diane S. Tubb is a native Texan, originally from Houston. When Jerry and Diane decided to open Terra Nova in 1990, she took on the responsibility of the business operations, public relations, and basically all aspects of the business except engineering. Jerry and Diane have made a perfect duo for their business, and, as well as being married, have well defined rolls at Terra Nova and enjoy working together.
Diane has a musical background and played classical violin and folk guitar until her college days. Attending North Texas, she made interior design and art her main studies. As a designer, she has taught interior design and has owned many businesses along the way, all involving design. She returned to the university in the early 80's to earn a degree in literature and history.
In 2002, Terra Nova moved the studio to its present location. With 3200 square feet to play with, Diane seized the opportunity to make the interiors of Terra Nova mastering studio what she and Jerry had always envisioned. Incorporating her design skills, she has made the studio a great place for mastering and a visual delight for the clients and guests.
Diane is also advancing her personal career in art. She is a published watercolor artist and illustrator and has many works displayed at the studio. She will soon have her own website up for the sale and promotion of her artwork. The painting on our website of the "Yellow Guitar" is an acrylic piece by Diane and is now the logo for Terra Nova.
Personal: Travel when possible, always continuing studies of design, medieval architecture, and history, and an avid watcher of reality shows.
Education:
- Bachelor of Arts / Literature and History
University of Texas (Permian Basin)
